LAFD Fire Engine Crashes Into Parked Cars In Sunland

At approximately 6:44 p.m. on May 19, 2026, a Los Angeles Fire Department engine responding to an emergency call crashed into multiple parked vehicles along Foothill Boulevard in Sunland.

The collision involved at least three parked vehicles, with one car becoming pinned underneath the rear portion of the overturned fire engine.

Authorities reported two firefighters suffered minor injuries during the crash.

Foothill Boulevard remained shut down for several hours as investigators processed the scene and crews prepared for heavy-duty tow operations to recover the fire engine.

Officials expected recovery efforts to continue into the morning hours.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
