LAFD Battles Greater-Alarm Commercial Fire in Pico-Union
09.15.2020 | 3:30 AM | LOS ANGELES (CNS) – Fire tore through a 75-foot-by-150-foot commercial building in the Pico-Union area Tuesday morning and burned for about 45 minutes before being extinguished.
Firefighters responded to the 2200 block of West Pico Boulevard, near Hoover Street, at 3:30 a.m. and encountered heavy smoke coming from the one- story building, according to Margaret Stewart of the Los Angeles Fire Department.
A total of 112 firefighters worked to extinguish the blaze and a knockdown was called at 4:16 a.m., she said.
No injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was under investigation.
