La Puente: One Dead After Second-Alarm Pallet Yard Fire
04.19.2020 | 3:32 AM | LA PUENTE – A second-alarm fire at a pallet yard left one man dead, early Sunday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of an outside fire burning at a pallet yard located in the 14600 block of Proctor Avenue near the border of La Puente and City of Industry around 3:34 AM.
Crews arriving on scene located a heavy smoke and fire showing from rear of the pallet yard and began efforts to contain the blaze.
It took more than 50 firefighters nearly three hours to extinguish the flames that engulfed pallets stacked nearly 20-feet high.
A man was later located at the scene of the fire deceased however the circumstances surrounding his death remain under investigation.
No other injuries were reported and the cause of the fire was not immediately known.
