La Presa: Postman Crashes Into Market, Dies After Medical Emergency

04.07.2020 | 11:08 AM | LA PRESA – A postman who apparently suffered a medical emergency causing him to crash his mail van into a local market was dead, early Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision into the Espana Liquor store and market located in the 9500 block of Jamacha Boulevard around 11:08 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a United States Postal Service mail van that had collided with the liquor store after striking a Jeep Cherokee in the nearby intersection.

The postman was unconscious and trapped inside his mail van requiring firefighters to extricate him.

Firefighter paramedics treated the postman on scene before transporting him to an area hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.

A customer inside the building and the driver of the Jeep were injured and treated on scene.

Initial reports indicate the driver may have suffered from a medical emergency in the moments prior to the crash.

The incident remains under investigation.
