La Mirada: FIAT 500 Bursts Into Flames On Freeway

01.20.2019 | 11:10 PM | LA MIRADA – A FIAT 500 burst into flames while driving on a busy freeway, Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to multiple reports of a vehicle fire on the southbound I-5 near Knott Avenue around 11:10 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a FIAT 500 on the shoulder of the freeway fully engulfed in flames.

Crews quickly doused the flames with water and extinguished the fire within 5 minutes.

Both occupants of the vehicle escaped without injury.

A mechanical failure was believed to started the fire.
