La Mirada: Robbery Suspect Dies In Shootout with SWAT (Caught On Camera)

11.21.2016 | 9:15 PM | LA MIRADA – An armed robber was fatally shot by deputies at the culmination of an hours long standoff inside an AM/PM convenience store he was attempting to rob, early Tuesday morning.

Deputies responded shortly after 9:15 PM to the AMP/PM store located at the intersection of South Beach Boulevard and Hillsborough Drive regarding reports of an armed robbery in progress.

Upon the arrival of deputies, the male suspect shot out several windows of the convenience store and barricaded himself inside. All employees and customers were able to escape prior to the barricade situation.

After nearly three hours, the man can be seen on video exiting the store and firing a shot from a handgun towards deputies. The suspect was subsequently engaged with effective fire from SWAT deputies.

The suspect succumbed to his injuries.

No other injuries were reported.
