La Habra: Passerby Rescues Dog From Burning Home

10.30.2019 | 2:51 PM | LA HABRA – A passerby who noticed a home on fire was able to rescue a dog but several other animals were feared to be deceased, Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a home burning in the 100 block of East Grace Street around 2:51 PM.

Units arriving on scene discovered a residence with smoke and fire showing and began efforts to extinguish the blaze.

Within 20 minutes crews had control of the fire and the majority of flames knocked down.

Initial reports indicate a passerby noticed smoke coming from the house and attempted to alert the residents. After receiving no response he was able to open a door and rescue a Chihuahua.

Several other animals were reportedly discovered inside the home and feared dead.

The residents were not home at the time of the fire and the cause is under investigation.
