La Habra: Man Rescued From Flood Control Channel Amid Torrential Rain

12.06.2018 | 12:30 PM | LA HABRA – First responders rescued a man who became trapped in a riverbed amid torrential rainfall, Thursday afternoon.

Authorities responded to reports of a man stranded in a riverbed near the intersection of Monte Vista Street just north of Lambert Road around 12:30 PM.

Crews arriving on scene discovered a transient in distress at the bottom of the riverbed and initiated efforts to rescue the man.

Using swift water rescue teams and a hoist to eventually rescue the man who was transported to an area hospital.

The La Habra Police Department is on scene conducting follow-up regarding the incident.
