La Habra: Good Samaritan Stabbed By Thieves At Donut Shop
11.11.2019 | 3:44 AM | LA HABRA – A homeless man who was helping a store owner stop a pair of thieves was brutally stabbed, early Monday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a stabbing at the Donuts and Deli located in the 100 block of West Whittier Boulevard around 3:44 AM.
Units arriving on scene located a man suffering from multiple lacerations after attempting to stop a theft in progress from the donut shop.
Firefighter paramedics treated the man, identified as a local homeless man and good samaritan, on scene before transporting him to UCI Medical Center in stable condition.
Initial reports indicate that a man and a boy were attempting to steal a top jar and beverage from the donut shop when the store owner confronted them.
The suspects fled to the outside of the business where the good samaritan attempted to help the owner detain them.
The suspects then stabbed the good samaritan multiple times before fleeing on foot.
Officers quickly apprehended both suspects and took them into custody.
