Juvenile Arrested After Violent Riverside Carjacking Attempt

A juvenile was arrested after an attempted carjacking turned into a violent altercation that left both the suspect and victim injured Wednesday night in Riverside.

Just after 9:00 p.m. on August 12, 2026, officers responded to the 2800 block of Campus Park Drive following an initial report of two people stabbing each other.

According to Riverside Police PIO Officer Espinoza, investigators determined a juvenile had allegedly attempted to carjack a vehicle when a physical altercation broke out between the suspect and victim.

The victim fought back during the confrontation and suffered a laceration to his face, while the juvenile suspect sustained injuries to his head.

The suspect fled following the altercation but was tracked to a second location near the 2500 block of Canyon Springs Parkway a short time later.

Both the victim and suspect were transported to local hospitals with significant injuries. The juvenile was later booked into Juvenile Hall.

The victim is shown being transported during the first portion of the video, while the juvenile suspect is shown during the second portion.
