Jurupa Valley: Wrong Way Pursuit Crash

DETAILS:

  1. On April 23rd, 2023, at around 2:30 AM, Riverside County Sheriff’s Department was in pursuit of a possible DUI driver in the area of 60 and Pedly Rd in Jurupa Valley.
  2. The suspect exited the freeway and continued on surface streets before entering the 60 Freeway going Eastbound in Westbound lanes at Valley Way.
  3. Shortly after entering the freeway going the wrong way, the suspect crashed head-on with a white Tesla causing major damage to both vehicles.
  4. The driver of the white Tesla had to be extricated from the car before being transported to a local hospital with major injuries.
  5. The suspected DUI driver was evaluated at the scene by paramedics before being taken into custody.
  6. No other information was provided at the scene.
