Jurupa Valley: Hill Fire Burns 200+ Acres, Prompts Evacuations
10.30.2019 | 10:00 AM | JURUPA VALLEY – A brush fire burned more than 200 acres and forced many to flee, Wednesday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a fire burning in vegetation near the intersection of Granite Hill Drive and Pyrite Street around 10:00 AM.
Crews arriving on scene found a brush fire burning in high winds near a mobile home park.
Crews worked to attack the blaze and defend nearby structures in winds blowing anywhere from 25 to 30 MPH.
A number of homes and a nearby nursing home had to be evacuated but were later allowed to return.
It was unclear if any injuries were reported and the cause of the fire is under investigation.
