Jefferson Park: Police Respond After McDonald’s Employees Strike
04.05.2020 | 10:30 AM | LOS ANGELES – A group of employees striking over pay after a coworker was diagnosed with COVID-19 was dispersed by police, Sunday morning.
Authorities responded to reports of a disturbance involving employees striking outside the McDonald’s restaurant located in the 2800 block of Crenshaw Boulevard in the Jefferson Park area around 10:30 AM.
Officers arriving on scene located a number of employees and other individuals engaging in a strike using their vehicles with signs taped on to demand full pay for a two-week quarantine period.
The workers said they were requesting the paid leave after a coworker was diagnosed with COVID-19.
Police declared the demonstration an unlawful assembly and ordered the group to disburse.
No arrests were reported.
