Intense Pallet Yard Fire Battled by Firefighters

- Firefighters are currently battling a large commercial pallet yard fire in Crestmore that is being driven by strong Santa Ana winds.
- At around 5:33 AM firefighters were dispatched to a commercial structure fire that was burning through large piles of pallets.
- Riverside Cal Fire was first on scene but it was determined that the location of the fire was in San Bernardino County jurisdiction.
- When firefighters arrived on the scene they found large pallets and massive piles of mulch burning and were being pushed by heavy Santa Ana winds.
- Firefighters are continuing to battle the blaze and protect exposures as the wind continues to strengthen in the area.
- While we were uploading the video, a large palm tree burst into flames ahead of the fire, firefighters were able to quickly get water into the tree to stop the tree fire from throwing more ember cast.
- The cause of the fire is unknown, however, an arson investigator has been requested, along with a prevention specialist.
- Firefighters face an extensive overhaul process with wind and massive piles of pallets and mulch.
