Innocent Motorists Hit By Dodge Charger Scat Pack Fleeing Police | Downey

06.11.2021 | 11:28 PM | DOWNEY – At least one innocent woman was hospitalized in a multi-vehicle crash after a speeding Dodge Charger trying to evade police lost control. Irvine police, as apart of the Orange County Street Racing Task Force, began chasing a Dodge Charger that was involved in a street takeover in the city of Fullerton. The pursuit continued north into La Habra where the suspect intentionally rammed one of their units. No injuries were reported in that incident. The suspect gained a new charge of Assault with a Deadly Weapon on a Police Officer as a result. The pursuit continued north on Harbor into Rowland Heights, where he circled the SGV via the 60/57/210/605 Freeways. The OC Task Force dropped out of the pursuit on the Westbound 210 freeway, however CHP Baldwin Park took over with the assistance of CHP’s Cessna. The suspect circled into Norwalk via the 5 freeway before turning around, heading north on the 5 freeway. The vehicle was doing triple digit speeds during the pursuit and when it approached the 605, the driver lost control at a high rate of speed and crashed into three innocent vehicles. Two SUVs sustained major damage while a mini-van with two dogs and a family flew into the embankment. All injuries were described as minor. Officers detained all four suspects in the vehicle.
