Infant Killed in Crash Involving Tow Truck | Houston

02.13.2022 | 10:00 AM | HOUSTON – HCSO deputies are investigating a fatal crash involving an infant boy.

It was reported a Nissan sedan was stopped at a stale red light facing eastbound on W Little York Rd at Cunningham Rd.

A tow truck towing a sedan was traveling eastbound at a high rate of speed.

The tow truck collided into the back of the Nissan dragging it into a ditch across the street.

The sedan being towed flipped upside down. in the ditch. There was no one inside that vehicle.

A 4-7 month old infant boy was in that Nissan. The infant was transported by ambulance but later pronounced deceased at the hospital.

The mother of the infant was also transported by ambulance in unknown condition.

It is unknown at this time if there was anyone else in the vehicle.

The driver of the tow truck remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators. He didn’t report any injuries.

The DA’s office has accepted charges of man slaughter on the two truck driver for the infants death.

The tow truck driver was taken into custody at the scene.

It doesn’t appear intoxication will play a part in the crash.

There may be more charges added on in the future.
