Industry: Driver Flees After Crash Involving Big Rig

07.09.2019 | 11:00 PM | INDUSTRY – A big rig driver was hospitalized after another crash involving a hit-and-run driver, Tuesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of an overturned big rig blocking laners on the westbound SR-60 Freeway at Azusa Avenue around 11:00 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a Sysco-branded big rig on its side blocking multiple lanes along with another involved vehicle stopped nearby.

Firefighter paramedics treated the driver of the big rig on scene before transporting him to an area hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Initial reports indicate the driver of the second vehicle fled on foot from the scene.

All westbound lanes of the SR-60 Freeway were closed at Azusa Avenue until further notice while crews worked to clear the overturned big rig.
