Industry: Driver Caught After Fleeing Fiery Fatal Crash

01.09.2020 | 10:00 PM | INDUSTRY – A man was arrested after fleeing from the scene of a fiery three-car crash that left one person dead, Thursday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with fire on the westbound SR-60 Freeway just west of Crossroads Parkway around 10:00 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a three-car crash with one vehicle engulfed in flames and one person with serious burn injuries. A second victim was located inside the burned vehicle and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Firefighter paramedics extinguished the car fire and treated the burn patient before transporting them to an area hospital.

Officers learned that one of the involved drivers fled the scene on foot and requested additional help to search the area.

The additional officers located the male driver who fled from the scene walking on Workman Mill Road just north of the SR-60 Freeway and took him into custody without incident.

The circumstances surrounding the crash remain under investigation.
