Industry: Armed Man Killed By Deputies After Reported Train Crash

06.07.2020 | 2:24 AM | INDUSTRY – A man armed with a knife who charged deputies responding to reports of a train that had struck a pedestrian was shot to death, early Sunday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a pedestrian that had been struck by a train near the intersection of Railroad Street and Azusa Avenue around 2:24 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a male kneeling on the railroad tracks with a knife.

As the deputies approached the man stood up and charged them with a knife in hand.

A deputy-involved shooting occurred and the suspect was struck.

Firefighter paramedics treated the suspect on scene before transporting him to Pomona Valley Hospital where he was pronounced deceased.

No officers were injured and the circumstances surrounding the deputy-involved shooting are under investigation.
