DETAILS:
- Phoenix Police and Phoenix Fire crews responded to reports of a vehicle vs motorcycle collision at the intersection of 22nd Street and Indian School Road shortly before 12:30 AM.
- Upon arrival, crews found a severely damaged street bike style motorcycle and an unidentified rider, down in the roadway.
- An involved white SUV with heavy driver side damage was seen stopped the the south side of Indian School Road.
- Per radio traffic, the rider was transported to a local trauma center in extremely critical condition.
- The driver of the SUV, an adult male, remained on scene.
- He was taken into custody following a field sobriety test.
- A hard closure has been established, closing Indian School Road between 23rd Street and 21st Street.
- The closure is expected to remain in place for several hours while Phoenix PD investigates the collision.
