In Person Injured in Newport Beach Shooting
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 6-1-25, 7:42 p.m.
LOCATION: West Ocean Front
AREA/CITY: NEWPORT BEACH
DETAILS:
- Newport Beach Police Department and Newport Beach Fire Department responded to the an area near the pier for reported shots fired.
- According to a witness (SOT) there were at least 5 shots fired.
- At this time, no suspect is believed to be in custody.
- At this time it appears that at least one person was transported by ground AMR
- The incident happened in a very popular area at the pier.
Added Video – Several Newport Beach Police officers had a vehicle stopped at the Northbound 55 and Del Mar in Costa Mesa. It is believed to be related to the shooting in Newport Beach, possibly the suspect. The person apparently barricaded themselves inside the vehicle for an unknown duration but has since been taken into custody.
