Immigrant Illegally Crossing Border Rescued | San Diego
01.29.2021 | 10:40 AM | SAN DIEGO – A Swift Water Rescue Team of SD Lifeguards were on patrol in the Tijuana River Valley due to the expected storm. They saw a male in the river swimming across and having a difficult time. He finally made it across and hid in some bushes. Concerned for his well-being, a rescue was called and the U.S. Border Patrol was notified. A U.S. Customs helicopter hovered near the male and told him to come out of hiding. He eventually walked out into the open and made his way to the bridge over the river. A Lifeguard rappelled down by rope to the riverbed and then with lifeguards pulling the rope, lifted both the 27-year-old Mexican citizen and the Lifeguard to safety. The male said he had been in the water since before sunrise and was freezing. Both he and the lifeguard were denominated due to the sewage and other pollutions in the water and riverbed. The male was also checked for hypothermia and was released to the Border Patrol Agents. For licensing, contact info@onscene.tv Follow our other platforms!
