I-5 Wrong-Way Driver Double Fatal Crash

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 4-10-24 3:21 am

LOCATION: SB I-5 JNO Palomar St
AREA/CITY: Chula Vista
DETAILS:

1. Wrong-way driver in the red car started at the border and came north at high speed.
2. The driver hit the driver of a Challenger head-on just north of Palomar St.
3. The Challenger burst into flames.
4. The red car driver crashed into the center divider.
5. Firefighters tried to rescue both drivers, but both were deceased at the scene,
6. The southbound I-5 is closed and will be for a while.
