Husband Killed After Drunk, Speeding Wife Crashes Vehicle

At approximately 11:00 p.m. on June 10, 2026, Harris County Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to a fatal single-vehicle crash in the 600 block of Century Plaza in Houston.

According to investigators, a vehicle traveling eastbound lost control, left its lane, and entered the grassy median before crashing.

A 30 year-old male passenger, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected from the vehicle during the collision.

EMS personnel responded and pronounced the man deceased at the scene.

The female driver was transported to a local hospital for evaluation and treatment.

Investigators determined the driver was intoxicated and placed her under arrest. Authorities said she is facing an intoxication manslaughter charge in connection with the crash.

According to deputies, the driver admitted she had been traveling approximately 60 mph in a posted 35 mph zone prior to the collision.

Officials said the driver and passenger were common-law spouses and were the only occupants in the vehicle.

The crash remains under investigation.
