Huntington Beach: Dog Alerts Family of Fire

11.28.2018 | 1:10 AM | HUNTINGTON BEACH – A family dog alerted residents of a fire in their home allowing them to escape, early Wednesday morning.

Firefighters responded to reports of a fire at a residence in the 17000 block of Elm Lane shortly after 1:00 AM.

Crews arriving on scene found a residence with smoke showing from an attached garage and quickly extinguished the blaze.

Residents reported that their dog awoke them from a sleep before they noticed the smell of smoke and quickly evacuated.

One female suffered from smoke inhalation and was treated on scene by firefighters.

No other injuries were reported.

The cause was under investigation.
