Human Smuggling as 2 Pangas Land at Marine Street Beach

DETAILS:
- SD City Lifeguards received calls that two panga boats used in Human Smuggling operations were found on the beach off Sea Lane.
- One boat was completely broken up in the surf line as the waves were heavy this morning.
- The other boat was high up on the beach.
- Lifeguards searched for any people in the water, but there were none.
- Gas cans and 20 Life Preservers were found in the water, beach, and boat.
- The U.S. Coast Guard and The U.S. Border Patrol were notified.
- U.S. Border Patrol Agents say there is an uptick in landings due to the heavy fog along the coast.
