HPD Unit Crashes While Enroute To Call

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 6-22-25 / 12:21 pm
LOCATION: 6899 N Wayside Dr
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:

1. Preliminary.
2. A HPD two person unit was traveling southbound on Wayside Dr heading to an emergency call with light and sirens.
3. A truck was leaving a stop sign from Joy St. and pulled out in front of the HPD unit.
4. Both vehicles collided.
5. The patrol vehicle ended up stopping on the northbound sidewalk.
6. The truck stopped in southbound lanes.
7. Two HPD officer’s were transported by ambulance with minor injuries.
8. The driver of the truck was also transported by ambulance with minor injuries.
9. Investigator’s will be checking if intoxication may have played a roll in the crash. There was several beer can’s thrown from the truck onto the street.
10. Investigation is on going.
