Houston: Vehicle Crashes Into Building Causing 2nd Alarm Fire
07.03.2019 | 11:23 PM | HOUSTON – A second-alarm fire broke out after a man crashed into a building, late Wednesday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a traffic collision with fire in the 8700 block of Gulf Freeway around 11:23 PM.
Crews arriving on scene located a vehicle that had crashed into a large commercial building before bursting into flames.
Firefighters quickly doused the fire but flames spread into the building prompting a second-alarm fire response.
With additional resources on scene it took about two hours to knock down the bulk of the fire.
The driver that crashed into the building was uninjured and placed into police custody.
An investigation is ongoing.
