Houston: Tow Truck Crash Leaves Man Critically Injured
11.17.2018 | 2:45 AM | HOUSTON – A man was fighting for his life after a crash involving a flatbed tow truck, early Saturday morning.
Police and fire responded to reports of a crash involving two vehicles in the 6800 block of Fondren Road around 2:45 AM
Units arriving on scene found a crash involving a sedan that had apparently struck a tow truck. The driver of the sedan was trapped in the wreckage and required extrication.
Using the jaws of life and other power tools, firefighters freed the driver within 45 minutes and transported him to Southwest Memorial Hospital.
Authorities described the driver’s condition as critical.
Initial reports indicate the truck driver was making a u-turn over a median when he was struck by the sedan.
Police and investigating the cause and whether alcohol or drugs may have played a role.
