Houston: Suspected Wrong-Way DUI Driver Fails Field Sobriety Tests

03.25.2020 | 11:13 PM | HOUSTON – A suspected wrong-way DUI driver was taken into custody after failing field sobriety tests in an unusual manner, late Wednesday night.

Authorities responded to reports of a crash involving a truck that was driving wrong-way on the 59 Freeway near Renwick Drive around 11:13 PM.

Units arriving on scene located a silver Ford pickup truck that was reportedly traveling wrong-way when it struck a Kia Soul.

The female driver of the Soul was treated on scene before being transported to an area hospital in unknown condition.

The male driver of the truck was uninjured and performed field sobriety tests in an unusual and dramaticized fashion before being placed under arrest on suspicion of driving while intoxicated.
