Houston: Suspect Dead After Shooting Three Officers During Warrant Service
12.11.2018 | 12:00 AM | HOUSTON – A suspect committed suicide after he opened fire on officers, leaving at least three injured, Tuesday afternoon.
A contingent of officers were on scene to serve an arrest warrant on a known gang member in the 5000 block of Hartwick when the suspect opened fire.
The gunfire hit at least three officers, one critically, and prompted an hours-long standoff with authorities.
All of the deputies were treated on scene almost immediately and transported to area hospitals for treatment.
Meanwhile SWAT teams attempted to convince the suspect to surrender.
After a stand-off that lasted several hours the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Daniel Trevino, took his own life.
