Houston: Small Plane Crash Outside Home Injures Two

07.28.2020 | 1:45 AM | HOUSTON – A small plane crashed into the front yard of a home injuring two people including the pilot who was trapped in the wreckage, early Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to reports of a plane crash in the 15700 block of Boulder Oaks Drive in the Bear Creek area of West Harris County around 1:45 AM.

Crews arriving on scene found a 1972 Piper PA-28 that had struck a tree before coming to rest in the front yard of a home.

The pilot of the plane was trapped in the wreckage and had to be extricated. A passenger was injured but able to free himself from the wreckage.

Both patients were transported to area hospitals with serious injuries but are expected to survive.

Initial reports indicate the aircraft was headed to Sugar Land Airport when it lost power at 7,000 feet.

The Federal Aviation Administration is responding to the scene to investigate.
