Houston: Shooting Leaves Man Dead

02.23.2019 | 12:00 AM | HOUSTON – Police were investigating a shooting that left one man dead, early Saturday morning.

Officers were investigating a reported arson fire when they heard shots being fired nearby in the 900 block of Cypress Station.

The officers ran on foot towards the gunfire and found an approximately 20-year-old male who had been shot and immediately initiated life-saving efforts including CPR.

Despite their efforts the male victim succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Additional units responding located a male fleeing the scene with a handgun and detained him pending further investigation.

The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation.
