HPD officer was involved in a fatal auto vs pedestrian.

The ped is deceased at the scene.

It was reported the HPD officer was responding to a non code 1 call. Lights and sirens are not needed.

He was traveling westbound on Aldine Bender Rd when he struck a male black that was in the middle lane.

The officer turned around and started life saving measures but was unsuccessful.

The pedestrian was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The officer has been with HPD for 2 years and will go on administrative leave.
