Houston Police Officer Struck By Red Light Runner

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 1110pm 8-29-24
LOCATION:  Southbound Sam Houston Feeder and Richmond Ave
AREA/CITY:  Houston
DETAILS:

1. Female HPD Officer running code 2 was struck by an SUV
2. Female officer had the green light and was proceeding southbound through the intersection when the SUV ran the red light and struck her patrol vehicle
3. suspect in the SUV fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle in a parking lot about 1/2 block North of Richmond on Rogerdale
4. Officers searched the area for the occupant(s) but they were not located
5. Female officer was transported to Memorial Katy in stable condition
6. HPD is working this as an FSGI at present, and will await the DA’s office to determine any additional charges or upgrading to FSRA
