Houston Police Officer Struck By Red Light Runner
INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 1110pm 8-29-24
LOCATION: Southbound Sam Houston Feeder and Richmond Ave
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:
- Female HPD Officer running code 2 was struck by an SUV
- Female officer had the green light and was proceeding southbound through the intersection when the SUV ran the red light and struck her patrol vehicle
- suspect in the SUV fled the scene and abandoned the vehicle in a parking lot about 1/2 block North of Richmond on Rogerdale
- Officers searched the area for the occupant(s) but they were not located
- Female officer was transported to Memorial Katy in stable condition
- HPD is working this as an FSGI at present, and will await the DA’s office to determine any additional charges or upgrading to FSRA
