Houston Police Officer Struck by Hit & Run Driver

11.23.2020 | 1:30 AM | HOUSTON – A Houston Police officer was briefly hospitalized after a hit & run red light runner sent the HPD cruiser flipping upside down in downtown Houston Monday morning.

HPD and HFD responded to reports of the rolled over unit around 1:30 AM.

Per HPD Sgt at scene, the driver ran a red light, striking the patrol vehicle, based on witness statements.

The driver of the offending vehicle fled the scene after the crash, and is still outstanding.

The officer was transported to a nearby trauma center in stable condition.
His injuries are described as minor

HPD VCD arrived on scene to reconstruct the accident scene.
