Houston: Police K9 Apprehends Dancing Pursuit Suspect

11.16.2017 | 1:00 AM | HOUSTON – A pursuit culminated with a dance and a dog bite on the I-45 freeway, Thursday morning.

Officers stopped the 25-year-old male suspect just before 1:00 AM in the 7400 block of Homestead Drive for a routing traffic violation. While speaking with an officer, the man fled.

A pursuit followed before officers deployed spike strips to stop the fleeing suspect.

Instead of surrendering, the suspect continued to defy police orders and began dancing in lanes. Fearing the man might flee or pose a danger to officers,a police K9 was deployed and safely apprehended the man.

The suspect was evaluated by paramedics on scene before being placed under arrest for felony evading.

No serious injuries were reported.
