Houston Police Arrest Barricaded Man With A Rifle

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 7-12-24 | 9 p.m.
LOCATION: 12700 Ashford Point
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:

  1. Call was originally that a suspect had a gun and was threatening someone else who owed money to each other.
  2. When officers arrived, the suspect fled on foot and thought he fled into the 1100 building.
  3. At that time, another lady popped out of another apartment and said he ran into that apartment with a rifle and threatened her as well.
  4. Officers set up a perimeter and someone came out of that apartment and said the suspect was not in there.
  5. Officers contacted D.A. to get permission when another witness said he was in his apartment in the 1200 building.
  6. Officers determined that the suspect was in there and SWAT started to talk to him to come out.
  7. The suspect broke through sheetrock in one apartment into another.
  8. The suspect came out the other door of another apartment, acted like he locked the door, and tried to leave the scene.
  9. Officers stopped him and he started to act up and they were able to ID him as the suspect.
  10. Suspect was arrested on a parole warrant and has also threatened  the female he was living with numerous time which may result in more charges as well as breaking into other apartments.
  11. No injuries reported.
  12. SWAT is checking the apartments with weapons, and he is known to have weapons.
