Houston: Methamphetamine Found During Stubborn Fire
11.14.2018 | 9:30 PM | HOUSTON – Deputies were investigating after a cache of methamphetamine was discovered during a house fire, Wednesday night.
Firefighters responded to reports of fire consuming a townhome in the 12000 block of West Village Drive around 9:30 PM.
Crews arriving on scene discovered flames extending from one townhome to another and initiated efforts to attack the blaze.
The fire quickly evolved prompting firefighters to take a defensive approach, preventing further spread of the fire.
During efforts to attack the blaze, firefighters discovered what was described as a large quantity of methamphetamine inside one of the townhomes.
A HazMat team responded due to the presence of the narcotics and continued to work with crews to control the blaze within an hour.
Deputies along with fire marshals were investigating the source of the narcotics and cause of the fire.
At least one residence was occupied at the time of the fire but were able to evacuate without injury.
