Houston: Massive Fire Rips Through Two-Story Home
03.13.2020 | 10:40 PM | HOUSTON – A large home was destroyed by a massive fire that took hours to contain, Friday night.
Authorities responded to reports of a residential structure fire burning in the 300 block of Magnolia in the Channelview area around 10:40 PM.
Units arriving on scene located a large two-story residence with heavy fire showing from both floors.
Firefighters initiated an offensive attack inside the structure but were forced to transition to a defensive stance due to the intensity of the flames.
It took approximately three hours for crews to contain the blaze.
Neighbors report the home has been vacant since 2009 but has since been frequented by various squatters.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
No injuries were reported.
