Houston: Man Shot And Killed With His Own Gun During Robbery

01.06.2019 | 12:30 AM | HOUSTON – Police were searching for a robbery suspect who disarmed a man and then killed him with his own gun, early Sunday morning.

Police and fire officials responded to reports of a shooting with a man down outside a barber shop at the intersection of Imperial Valley and Greens Road around 12:30 AM.

Units arriving on scene found a adult male with a gunshot wound to his head and pronounced him deceased on scene.

A number of witnesses came forward to police and advised that the victim was collecting money for a concert that the barber shop was hosting when he was confronted.

Witnesses say the suspect who confronted the victim was able to obtain the man’s gun and then opened fire at point blank range.

Officers quickly identified a person of interest in the shooting using surveillance footage (above) and are asking the public to come forward with any additional information.

Police believe robbery was the motive behind the incident but are continuing to investigate.
