Houston: Man Shot After Answering Front Door

11.15.2018 | 2:00 AM | HOUSTON – A man was shot by an unknown assailant after answering his front door, early Thursday morning.

Police and fire responded to reports of a shooting at a residence in the 7500 block of Bissonet Street around 2:00 AM.

Units arriving on scene discovered a male suffering from a gunshot wound to his abdomen.

Firefighter paramedics treated the man on scene before transporting him to an area hospital in stable condition.

Initial reports indicate the shooter knocked on the victim’s door. When the victim answered the door he was shot by the suspect who then fled.

No description of the suspect was immediately available.

Police are on scene investigating.
