Houston: Man Jumps 60-Feet While Fleeing Police During Dangerous Pursuit
06.19.2020 | 11:45 PM | HOUSTON – A dangerous pursuit ended with the suspect jumping over 60-feet from an elevated roadway, Friday night.
A deputy attempted to stop a driver in a grey Chrysler 200 sedan who failed to stop at a stop sign near the intersection of East Hardy and Hill roads around 11:40 PM.
The driver and solo occupant of the vehicle failed to yield to the deputy and fled at speeds that reached speeds of 80 MPH.
At one point the pursuit headed wrong-way on West Hardy Road prompting deputies to call off the chase.
Shortly after disengaging from the pursuit the suspect crashed into a rail at the intersection of Aldine Bender and West Hardy Road.
The suspect then fled from his vehicle on foot and jumped off the elevated roadway before falling over 60-feet to the ground below.
Officers quickly located the man who was injured but responsive and summoned firefighter paramedics to transport him to an area hospital.
