Houston Fire Battles Large Commercial Fire

DETAILS:
- HFD responded to reports of a building fire
- Arriving companies saw smoke and fire from a couple blocks out
- They arrived and found heavy fire inside an abandoned warehouse
- Fortunately, there was no roof on the structure, which expedited firefighting efforts
- It took a full 1st alarm assignment about 30 minutes to get the bulk of the fire under control
- Primary and secondary searches turned up no patients/ residents
- No reports of injuries
- HFD Arson units have already begun to look over the property, and the fire is suspicious, given the state of the property, lack of electrical in the building, and evidence to indicate people living on site
- Water supply issues hindered fire fighting operations a little bit, but fortunately HFD was able to make due
