Houston: Double Fatal Crash Seriously Injures Child

11.29.2018 | 12:30 AM | HOUSTON – A 3-year-old child was badly injured and two others were dead after a crash in front of a hospital, Thursday afternoon.

Police and fire officials responded to the reported solo vehicle crash in front of the Kindred Hospital in the 200 block of Hollow Tree around 12:30 PM.

Crews arriving on scene discovered a vehicle that had collided with a tree. A male driver and female passenger were both trapped in wreckage with serious injuries.

The female was pronounced deceased on scene while firefighter paramedics worked to free the male driver.

The driver was eventually extricated and transported to an area hospital where he later succumbed to his injures.

A nurse from the nearby hospital who rushed to the scene had found a three-year-old female in wreckage and removed her.

The child, who was apparently unrestrained, was seriously injured and required transport via helicopter to an area hospital where she remained in critical but stable condition.

Police were investigating speed as a factor in the collision.
