Houston: Car Bursts Into Flames After Slamming Into Truck

12.18.2018 | 1:00 AM | HOUSTON – A car burst into flames after slammed into a dump truck, Tuesday morning.

Authorities responded to the reported fiery crash on the southbound North Freeway just south of FM 1960 around 1:00 AM.

Crews arriving on scene located a sedan that had apparently rear ended a dump truck and was engulfed in flames.

Firefighters quickly extinguished the flames and located the driver who escaped with only minor back injuries. He was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

The driver of the dump truck was uninjured.

Authorities are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash and say fog may have been a factor.
