Houston Ave Bridge Struck Again, Houston, TX

INCIDENT DATE/TIME: 1115am 8-14-26
LOCATION: i10 East at Houston Avenue
AREA/CITY: Houston
DETAILS:

1. Once again, the Houston Avenue Bridge has been struck
2. 18 wheeler with “oversized load” placards has a large spindle on it, which is still impacting the underside of the bridge
3. 2 right lanes are closed while HPD and TXDOT await another rig to assist in removing it
4. It appears the integrity of the bridge is being assessed, which is standard for these incidents
5. I’VE LOST COUNT HOW MANY TIMES THIS BRIDGE IS STRUCK EACH YEAR, BUT I BELIEVE IT IS BETWEEEN 70 AND 100 TIMES
