Houston: ATM Burglary At Chase Bank Goes Wrong

01.02.2019 | 2:37 AM | HOUSTON – Police were searching for suspects who tried but failed to steal an ATM using a truck, Wednesday morning.

Police responded to reports from a security service that individuals were attempting to steal an ATM from a Chase Bank in the 5000 block of Kirby around 2:37 AM.

Units arriving on scene located a large Chase ATM machine on its side with damage consistent with being dragged.

Initial reports indicate a group of three males arrived in a pickup truck and attached a strap to the ATM in attempt to pull it free.

The crooks appear to have underestimated the size of the ATM and fled when they were unable to load it up. The suspects left behind the truck which authorities believe may have been stolen.

Officers are reviewing surveillance footage to identify the suspects.
