Horrific Fatal SR-94 Fiery Crash

LOCATION: WB CA-94 @ NB CA-15

DETAILS:

1. The female driver of a Mini-Cooper was taking the transition ramp from eastbound CA-94 towards the northbound CA-15.
2. For unknown reasons, she crashed on the single-lane bridge, flew off of the overcrossing, and landed on a vehicle that was being driven by a male with his female passenger on the westbound CA-94 below.
3. Witnesses told the CHP that there was an explosion, and both cars caught on fire.
4. A third vehicle was hit by debris and body debris.
5. Good Samaritans stopped and pulled the injured male from the car and his passenger to safety as the car was burning.
6. The male driver had major injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
7. Firefighters responded quickly and out of both car fires.
8. The female driver of the Mini-Cooper died upon impact and in the fire.
9. A SIG Alert has been declared as the CHP has shut down the westbound CA-94.
10. Transition ramps on the I-805, CA-15, and Home Ave are closed.
11. Traffic is being diverted to take the Home Ave on-ramp off of the freeway, which will take time.
