Beaumont Police Department Investigating Fatal Incident Involving Vehicle
Beaumont, CA— The City of Beaumont Police Department is actively investigating a homicide, involving the use
of a vehicle. Officers responded to the scene at 10:59 p.m. on October 15, 2024, located at the 400 block of E. 1st
Street following a report of a traffic collision.
After further investigation, officers determined that a driver of a pick-up truck used their vehicle to strike a victim,
running over a male subject. The driver of the pick-up truck fled the area before the arrival of law enforcement and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene.
At 11:33 p.m., the Beaumont Police Department was advised of a pick-up truck, matching the suspect vehicle,
involved in a traffic collision in the unincorporated area of Cabazon. Officers responded to the area and detained
the suspect, who was thought to be involved in the incident in Beaumont. The incident is currently being
investigated as a homicide. At this time there are no additional details, but investigators believe this act was
intentional.
The suspect is currently in custody but is receiving medical treatment for injuries sustained during the unrelated
traffic collision. The Riverside County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case to determine the appropriate
charges. Further information will be forthcoming.

  1. Beaumont Police Department responded to reports of a vehicle that hit a car at a gas pump at an ARCO gas station, hitting the occupant of the vehicle.
  2. When units arrived, they found one person down near a vehicle, suffering from major injuries.
  3. That person who was hit was pronounced deceased at the scene.
  4. Beaumont Police Department Investigators arrived and have assumed the investigation.
  5. From the scene, It appears that a vehicle was at the gas pump and was hit , it has major damage and the body is next to that vehicle. (There are no sots of the body in the video)
  6. A BOLO went out via INDO CHP for a vehicle related to an incident in Beaumont, a short time later Indio CHP responded to a vehicle that had been involved in a TC in Cabazon related to the BOLO in Beaumont.
  7. INDIO CHP took that person into custody and his vehicle was taken by Beaumont PD.
  8. The location of that man that was taken into custody via the BOLO was at I-10 East, East of Main MM 21 at 11:13 p.m. per CHP Log.
  9. We have reached out to Beaumont PD to confirm but have not heard back.
